Seeing in the club’s 80th anniversary, New Balance have revealed the new home shirt for Ligue 1 side, LOSC Lille, and it comes presented in the side’s traditional colours, but with an updated version of the Lille scapular chevron.
Not straying too far from tradition, New Balance’s new home shirt for LOSC Lille for the 24//25 season sees the Ligue 1 side’s classic colour formation of red with navy and white accents accentuated through a new execution for the chevron that often features on the Dogues’ shirts. The chevron element has been a regular feature since the 1940s, but for this, teh club’s 80th anniversary, it comes in a graphic representation made of a formation of multiple smaller chevrons, or V’s, representing the club’s numerous victories over the years.
More than just the victories though, the graphic also creates an illusion of thread, purposefully done to honour the heritage of the textile industry of the North.
On the back of the shirt, just below the collar, a badge specially dedicated to the 80th anniversary has been positioned, and it highlights the merger between Olympique Lillois and Sporting Club Fivois, the ancestors of the club.
Unlike other brands and club jerseys, New Balance have made the conscious choice to only produce one type of jersey, meaning fans and players wear one and the same.
