Our Top 10 Copa America Kit Designs

16 teams are set to compete at the 2024 Copa America, and they’ll be wearing kits produced by six different brands. With vibrant designs and rich back stories, here, we pick out our 10 favourite.

Ahead of Euro 2024 we picked out our 10 favourite kit designs for the competition, and with Copa America now getting underway, we’re doing the same for that competition. Adidas dominate proceedings, supplying kits for eight of the 16 teams, a whopping 50 percent of competing federations. Nike are next with four teams, Marathon with two, and finally Reebok and PUMA with one-a-piece. With over 32 kits to pick from, we’ve gone about selecting what we feel are the 10 best designs on offer, based, as always, on the scientific method of whether we like them or not.

10. Bolivia Home

Got a lot of time for Bolivia's home shirt from Marathon. Obviously attention is drawn to that sleeve detail, but the shoulder and neck colouring also gives it a bit of a vintage vibe that we're digging.

9. Costa Rica Home

The Costa Rica home and away shirts flew in under the radar a bit, in that they weren't featured in the big reveal of adidas shirts for the tournament. But that doesn't mean they don't deserve some proper admiration, thanks to some eye-catching designs inspired by Costa Rican culture and nature. The home just has the edge over the away for us, and nips in at the number nine spot.

8. Brazil Away

One of the Swoosh's favoured federations (for how much longer though is open for debate...), Brazil were always going to get a tidy one-two wardrobe. The away shirt features an all-over print inspired the nation’s famous beaches and coastline with a wave motif inspired by Brazilian textiles. It also boasts the nation's crest in the centre of the chest for the first time since 2004.

7. Peru Away

Loving the setup of the Peru away kit, which features a unique textured pattern through the sleeves and side panels. It's inspiration comes from the Peruvian Cajon instrument, and the black base ensures emphasis is on it, while gold accents add a final flourish.

6. Paraguay Away

The only PUMA team in the competition, and its Paraguay's away shirt that captures most attention, with a design that celebrates the identity of the central South American nation and features an all-over print that symbolises the Amazon rainforest.

5. Mexico Away

Mexico always seem to be blessed with beautiful kits from adidas, and their 24/25 selection is no different. The mint-green away shirt sees a pattern across the front depicting the serpent that can be found on the Mexican coat of arms, symbolising power and greatness.

4. Canada Away

After years of being treated as a virtual afterthought when it came to their kit designs, Canada men’s and women’s sides finally have soccer jerseys that they can be jointly proud of. Featuring bespoke details, both the home and away options see callouts to the nation’s sporting heritage through a hockey-inspired Nike logo and a nod to the 1986 team. And the real talking point here is the branding. See, not only have Nike finally created a unique jersey design for Canada (the least any nation should really expect), they’ve gone above and beyond by altering the appearance of the Swoosh – sacred ground. It’s a mark of respect, reserved for very particular cases. Flex proudly, Canada.

3. Brazil Home

It's always interesting to see how home shirts – whether at club or international level – are kept fresh. For Brazil, who boast one of the most instantly recognisable jerseys in the game, Nike produced an intricate, all-over pattern celebrating the country’s beautiful natural heritage. Different details of Brazil are contained within the richly-textured pattern set against the distinctive yellow backdrop, from musical notes to macaws, from Sugarloaf Mountain to world-famous beaches.

2. Mexico Home

Completing the second one-two on this list, Mexico's home jersey is a proper spectacle in itself. The distinctive design features patterns influenced by their iconic symbol of the Eagle – with feather graphics on the base highlighting the speed and precision synonymous with both the team and their national bird. Is it the best Mexico shirt ever? Probably not. But is it an absolute banger of a design? You know it.

1. Jamaica Away

Mexico's opponents in their opening game of Copa America 24 narrowly pip them to the top spot, thanks to a design that draws on Jamaica's rich Caribbean heritage. A unique, hand-drawn and wax-painted motif reminiscent of traditional graphic styles is embossed throughout the main panel of the jersey, and presented in the nation's traditional colours. The graphic pays tribute to Jamaican nature, featuring symbols of its national bird (doctor bird) and national flower (lignum vitae). Was always going to be a tough follow up to the Wales Bonner-produced kits of last year, but adidas are up to the challenge.
