Man City & PUMA Launch 1999-Inspired Away Shirt For 24/25

Marking the 25th anniversary of one of the most iconic moments in the Club’s history, Manchester City and PUMA reveal the club’s new away shirt for the 24/25 season.

Having revealed their new home shirt back in May, and then the third shirt more recently, Manchester City now reveal their away shirt from PUMA for the 24/25 season. The shirt design takes inspiration from the kit worn in 1999, when City triumphed over Gillingham in the Second Division Play-Off final in dramatic fashion. It was a marquee moment in the club’s history – trailing by two goals, City’s determination eventually saw them through to victory on penalties, after Paul Dickov’s dramatic equaliser in the 95th minute took the game into extra time.

The design sees a navy-blue jersey featuring neon yellow vertical stripes, with neon yellow and blue detailing on the classic collar and sleeve trims, in what is a very close recreation of the shirt from 1999, originally produced by Kappa.

Paul Dickov, Manchester City Club Ambassador, said: “It’s fantastic to see this year’s away kit revealed today. The 1999 Play-Off final victory still remains a special moment for myself and City fans around the world and I know the kit from that day is remembered by those who were there and beyond. It’s a wonderful gesture by the Club and PUMA to commemorate the anniversary with this year’s away kit.

Speaking about the kit, Marco Mueller, PUMA’s Senior Head of Product Line Management Teamsport Apparel, said: “This kit symbolises a defining moment in Manchester City’s history and the relentless spirit of its fans. Our goal was to create a jersey that honours the past while using the latest in performance technology to meet the needs of today’s athletes and supporters. We’re proud to bring back a design that holds such significance and to do so with a sustainable approach.
