Following the announcement of their new partnership with NOCTA, Venezia have debuted their new home kit for the 24/25 season in their Serie A opener against Lazio.

Having played in what was a quick slap-dash job in their Coppa Italia match on 11 August against Brescia, now, following the official announcement of their partnership with NOCTA, Venezia have revealed their home kit for the 24/25 season. The kit has been “created in collaboration with NOCTA”, suggesting that the Nike sub-brand that’s fronted by Drake hasn’t had complete control of the design process behind the kit, but that makes sense given the quick turnaround that would’ve been needed.

The kit itself sees a black base with a sublimated star pattern, lifted from the NOCTA logo. It’s a detail that's simply lost from a distance, or when the shirt is drenched in sweat, but while it's not particularly visible from far away it does add a nice element to the look from closer up. The design then features the club’s traditional orange and green trim on the cuffs and side panels, completing the signature Arancio, Nero, Verde combo. Golden accents on the sponsor, crest, branding and piping down the upper body complete the look.

It would seem that long gone are the days of the clean, sponsor-free aesthetics that came with Kappa’s golden era of Venezia kits, where the word “Venezia” sat proudly as a central focus of the design. Following on from the introduction of frankly jarring “Belcher” last season (hard to pick a brand name that has a more contrasting meaning in English with the otherwise sleek aesthetics of the club)  we now get “Cynar Sprtiz”. Sure it’s in gold and so in keeping with the design, but it’s just not quite the Venezia the world fell in love with four years ago.

All we can hope here is that this is a quick make-do job, and that there will be bigger and better to come in the preceding seasons of this otherwise exciting new partnership.
