Macron Present New 24/25 Third Shirt Design For Bologna

Drawing inspiration from modern art, Macron has revealed the final piece in the Bologna-shaped puzzle, with the reveal of the Serie A side’s new third shirt for 24/25.

Arriving in a slightly disjointed order following the reveal of the club’s special European fourth shirt, Macron complete the Bologna 24/25 set with the reveal of their new third shirt. The design sees a contemporary twist on the club’s traditional red and blue colours, skewing their presentation in graphics that draw inspiration from modern art. Like the Home and Away kits, the new Third kit is made from Eco Exalock, an Eco Fabric obtained entirely from recycled post-consumer polyester. The entire shirt is characterised by a fine, hexagonal Jacquard weave that gives it a different ‘look and feel’ to conventional technical and sports fabrics.

The aesthetic design is captured through dye-sub graphics in which red and blue, the colours that traditionally identify the club, interweave to form eye-catching lines and shapes. In true artistic style, the look is framed by a red knitted crew neck and sleeve cuffs. The customised inside neck label features the club’s colours and the dates 1925-2025 in gold. The Championship Cup appears in the centre with the figure 100, celebrating the 100th anniversary of Bologna’s first championship win in the 1924-25 season. Also on the label are the Macron logo and the words ‘Designed in Bologna’, nodding to the fact that the shirt was conceived, designed, and developed in the Macron Campus in the city, strengthening the connection between the club and brand.

As a final flourish for the design, the classic club crest is replaced by a stripped back ‘BFC’ and ‘1909’, both taken from the badge of Bologna FC 1909.
