Celebrating the 130th anniversary of the club’s origins, Macron present a limited edition jersey design for Bulgarian side CSKA Sofia, which features details taken from the building in which the club was founded.
Football shirts sometimes transcend their position as mere uniforms, with the designs being good enough to become a shirt of art. One such is the limited edition jersey created by Macron for Bulgarian side CSKA Sofia in celebration of the 130th anniversary of the first digging of one of the most emblematic buildings in Sofia in which the club were created – the Military Club. It was there in 1948 that the club was founded, and in honour of that just 1,948 of these jerseys have been created.
The design of the jersey sees an off-white base elevated by golden details throughout. The body sees a beautifully embossed recreation of the authentic mosaic of the Military Club, preserved to this day in part of the building's halls and corridors, lending the design a truly luxurious feel. Written in gold on the back is the covenant "ARMYANS" - uniting all CSKA supporters, proudly bearing the name of the fearless Bulgarian Army. Embroidered at the bottom of the shirt are the four letters "CSKA", while the commemorative historical dates and their accompanying baroque ornaments, engraved on the ceiling of the concert hall, feature inside the hem.
