Newcastle United & adidas Drop A Modern Classic For 25/26 Home Kit Design

When Newcastle United reunited with adidas in 2024, the streets of the Toon buzzed with nostalgia and anticipation. A year on, that energy’s been channelled into a fresh classic for the 2025/26 season – the Magpies’ new home shirt is here, and it’s a bold blend of heritage and forward-thinking swagger.

Making its on-pitch debut this Sunday at St. James’ Park against Everton, Newcastle's new home kit doesn’t just wear the stripes – it redefines them. The iconic black and white is reimagined with a northern-inspired twist, introducing a subtle shepherd’s check pattern woven into the stripes. It’s a nod to tradition, but make no mistake – this is a shirt built for a new era.

The aesthetic is finished with solid black shorts and socks, dressed with adidas’ signature three-stripes and a crisp white “NUFC” sign-off. It's clean. It’s considered. And it screams identity. Add in the full-colour club crest and a “Howay the Lads” detail inside the neck, and you've got a design that speaks directly to the heart of the Geordie faithful.

In a clever play on contrast, a subtle light blue trim dances around the collar – a sharp, unexpected flash that pops against the monochrome. It’s small details like this that elevate the design beyond the standard fare and into something that resonates deeply with both legacy and ambition.

On the tech front, the authentic kit is crafted with adidas’ latest performance fabrics – designed for elite pressure. The replica version rolls out AEROREADY tech to keep fans cool on matchdays, whether you’re in the stands or shouting at the telly.

But the innovation doesn’t stop with the first team. Later this year, Newcastle United will launch a dedicated women’s range, featuring a tailored fit and a new “Howay the Lasses” neck sign-off. It’s a clear signal of intent: black and white is for everyone, and the women’s game is being backed with purpose and pride.

Peter Silverstone, Chief Commercial Officer at Newcastle United, said: “This season’s kit launch is about more than just what our players wear on the pitch – it’s about supporting our community. For every shirt sold through official club channels, we’ll be donating £5 to the Newcastle United Foundation. It’s a way for supporters to not only wear the badge with pride, but to directly contribute to the life-changing work the Foundation does across the region. Together, we’re making a difference – on and off the pitch.”

This release marks the second drop in the rekindled partnership between adidas and Newcastle – a collaboration steeped in football heritage. With the 25/26 home shirt, the pair have once again bottled the essence of the Toon and delivered a design that’s as much about where the club’s been as where it’s going.

The Newcastle United 25/26 home kit will be available 29 May in-store and online.
