Arsenal and adidas have lit the fuse on nostalgia once again, dropping a jolting away kit for the 2025/26 season that draws a bold bolt straight from the archives. A modern homage to the iconic 1995/96 away shirt, this latest drop brings thunder and lightning to the pitch in a way only adidas can.
Set for it's debut on 23 July when Arsenal’s men’s team play AC Milan in Singapore, the new 25/26 away shirt from adidas lands with a deep navy base, but it’s the eye-catching lightning bolt pattern that takes centre stage—rendered in a vibrant royal blue that dances across the fabric with retro energy. It’s a direct nod to the cult classic worn by legends like Ian Wright, reimagined with sharper edges and cleaner lines to suit the modern game.
Striking red adidas stripes punch through the shoulders, injecting heat into the otherwise cool palette, while light silver logos add a metallic flash that feels at once futuristic and throwback. It’s a fitting blend of eras—one that balances heritage and innovation with the swagger you expect from North London.
Juergen Rank, Senior Design Director at adidas, said: “For this season’s away shirt we wanted to create something nostalgic, leaning on the lightning bolt graphic and reinterpreting it in a fresh and contemporary way for the modern era of Arsenal supporters. The pattern and navy colourway have become synonymous with some of the club’s most iconic shirts of the past, and we hope supporters of the club love it as much as we do. We’re really excited to see it worn on-pitch and in the away stands this season.”
This isn’t adidas’ first foray into the 95/96 archives. The Three Stripes previously revisited that electricity with the 2021/22 third shirt, and the 25/26 edition once again dives headfirst into full rework mode, giving fans a jersey that celebrates history while fully locked into the now.
