It's here. After months of speculation, Nike have officially confirmed the return of Brazil’s iconic 2004 home jersey, answering the prayers of Seleção faithful and, well, all football fans. It’s back and as good as ever, feeding us that nostalgia we have all been craving for so long.
Nike heard the fan’s needs, and they have provided. The Swoosh have finally unveiled the return of that iconic Brazil home jersey from 2004 that left an irreplaceable imprint on football. We all remember it. The time where joga bonito was more alive than ever. Ronaldinho, Adriano, R9, Kaka… I could go on. Futebol at its finest. Now, it is finally back, well – the jersey at least. With Y2K taking over the fashion industry over the last cpuple years, we are now seeing football dip a toe into those waters, with brands re-living some of their most influential eras through re-issues and bringbacks. Nike are doing exactly that. First the Hypervenom comeback – one of the biggest moments of the year. Now, '04 Brazil is back and it's safe to say football fans are going to love this one.
First teased last month by Brazilian rapper Veigh, the reissue has been brewing throughout the football underground, fans dying to get their hands on it. Now, it’s ready for the spotlight. Dropping just in time for summer festival season, Nike are really allowing bloke-core to thrive more than ever for 2025. Jorts and football jersey has never looked so good. The re-issue arrives with a player specific remake, paying tribute to Brazil legend and the king of Joga Bonito – Ronaldinho. Name something more iconic in football culture than Brazil’s take on the Total 90 template worn by the flair merchant that is ‘Dinho.
The design features that infamous yellow base paired with deep green detailing along the collar, cuffs, and piping, bringing back that unmistakable early 00s vibe. The Swoosh stays in its original placement on the side of the shirt, whilst the Brazil crest takes the spotlights as it is centralised to complete the look. So good.
Nike and Brazil are doubling down on their long-standing relationship with this one, just as they confirm their new contract until 2038. The Swoosh aren’t done with samba yet…
