The clock is ticking down. The 2026 FIFA World Cup is fast approaching and it just got serious as adidas have unveiled the new home kits for their 22 federations. The Three Stripes are rewriting the playbook and reimagining football culture, fusing legacy with a new kind of energy. Redefining a nation through design.
Every one of these shirts tell a different story. One from the past but also one still being written. Argentina’s blues still sing, but louder. Japan’s patterns move like soundwaves. Mexico’s fire burns through modern lines. Italy’s effortless cool gets a sharper edge. These are built from history but made for the players that shape what happens next year.
Sam Handy, GM Football at adidas said: “The national kit is the symbol of a nation’s togetherness and pride. As teams step onto the world stage at the biggest World Cup we have ever seen, they carry the hopes of a whole new generation of fans, while representing those that have come before them. A World Cup is about creating moments that transcend the stadium, so we’ve engineered the designs as an honour to each nation’s roots but also to celebrate an era where every fan, everywhere, is part of the story.”
The full collection hits the sweet spot of nostalgia and innovation. Classic colours are remixed with bold graphic energy that speaks to the next generation. And the details don’t miss either. Hidden dates, references to past titles, echoes of icons… the kind of subtleties only real ones catch.
Now, the design is what catches the eye first, of course, but underneath the performance runs wild. All kits are crafted for the very top of the game – body-mapped, 3D engineered, cut from adidas’ CLIMACOOL+ fabrics that move like second skin. Every part of the shirt has purpose, from mesh holes to every panel and stripe.
It wouldn’t be right if we didn’t have a closer look at each kit, so let’s get into what’s going to be rocking the streets of the 2026 World Cup.
Argentina - The iconic sky blue and white of Argentina gets reimagined. The traditional vertical stripes now move with a shapeshifting fade, blending three distinct shades of blue that have been pulled from some of their greatest moments: 1978, 1986, and 2022. Three years that blessed the country with their three stars. A nod to La Albiceleste’s greatness. Around the back of the neck, a subtle detail seals the deal. The birth year of the AFA, 1896, is etched into the collar as a reminder that legacy never fades.
Algeria - Born from the sands of the Sahara, Algerias new home shirt hits all the marks. A bold expression of identity forged from the heat of the desert. The dynamic beige and white stripe graphics rips across the jersey like wind carved dunes, whilst flashes of green slice through the neckline and shoulders. Just to finish it off, ‘Algeria’ is etched in Arabic on the back of the neck, sealing the connection of national pride.
Belgium - Belgium’s new home kit turns up the heat. A fusion of football and gothic artistry. Pulling inspiration from the stained-glass windows that define the nation’s skyline, the jersey reimagines that intricate architecture through a pattern of bold icons, representing both the Red Devils and the Red Flames. The deep red base does all the talking, but the black and yellow detailing along the shoulder brings the national flag straight to the design.
Chile - Chile’s home shirt is a statement of identity. The nation’s iconic bird, the Condor, takes flight across a classic red base, whilst an all over feather inspired pattern brings plenty of motion and texture to the look.
