Stade Rennais and PUMA have unveiled a special-edition anniversary shirt to mark a historic milestone for the Breton club: 125 years since its founding on 10 March 1901. Released today as part of the club’s celebrations, the jersey pays tribute to more than a century of identity, passion and unwavering support.
Set to make its on-pitch debut when Rennes face Lille on 15 March at Roazhon Park, the 125th anniversary shirt sits at the heart of the club’s anniversary campaign, “Il était une foi” (Once upon a time). The message reflects the idea that the club’s story is built not just on results, but on faith, loyalty and the bond between players and supporters that has endured for generations.
The beautiful design leans heavily into heritage. A rich burgundy base forms the foundation of the jersey, chosen to symbolise authenticity and the enduring character of the club. Woven subtly across the fabric are the names of iconic figures from Rennes’ history, appearing in a tone-on-tone graphic that feels almost hand-drawn – a quiet tribute to the personalities who shaped the club across the decades.
Perhaps the most striking detail arrives in the crest. For the first time in the club’s modern era, the original 1901 badge has been revived and placed proudly on the chest.
