Puma V1.11 Football Boots – Black/White/Blazing Yellow

Puma V1.11 Football Boots – Black/White/Blazing Yellow

Puma have unveiled this new colourway for their v1.11 football boots, a classy Black/White/Yellow version quite unlike anything else we've seen in the range, and the closest thing we've come to the all-black versions currently being worn by some of the pro's.

Interestingly, the Black/White/Yellow colour-scheme is limited to just the synthetic v1.11's, and as far as we know hasn't been extended to either the leather versions or the SL. But it's the standard v1.11's which are seemingly becoming increasingly popular amongst the players with Sergio Aguero, Carlos Tevez, Steven Pienaar, Pablo Piatti and Shane Long all spotted wearing Puma's Speed boots.

The v1.11 is the latest incarnation of the Puma v1 Speed range, and there are various features that will instantly grab you with the new Puma v1.11 football boots, not least the radically overhauled lace-cover! But as with every incarnation of the v1 range the focus is on player speed, which means honing the technology Puma has been developing for over 5 years.

If we retain the focus on speed, we can look at the Puma v1.11 football boots from the bottom up, starting right underneath your toes. The v1.11 sole-plate features a carbon fiber composite in the forefoot, this helps to provide optimal pressure distribution, reactivity and flexibility for an ultra-responsive outsole during movement.

In addition, the new v1.11 soccer cleats enable greater playing stability, through an external heel counter and a Pebax frame that provides support to the outsole. The midfoot area is reinforced with a TPU composite which secures further stability and helps to avoid midfoot bending. This increased stability also enables an optimal traction as well as manoeuvrability, provided through the pointed stud configuration featured on this new boot.

The Puma v1.11 football boots are the third generation boot that uses the special UNI technology, where the upper material is stitched rather than glued to the sole, which marry's the boot together for a consistent fit. This combines with an anti-slip insert under the heel for a boot that will not only fit snug but will support the foot and prevent slippage.

Comfort comes from the foam insole that once again rides up to offer support and stability to the heel, whilst Puma have increased the volume of the area around the heel and boot collar for a slightly wider fit.

The central lacing system has been made easier to access with the introduction of a new lace-cover, probably the most striking feature. The lace-cover provides a unique look and is adorned with the Puma motif. Held down by an elastic strap and a TriHook fastener to ensure a snug fit and tighter fastening than the previous v1.10, the lace-cover offers a cleaner kicking surface.

Puma have dropped their textile material, and instead the Puma v1.11 soccer shoes features a premium lightweight microfiber upper material. Softer than on previous incarnations, the new upper gives a comfortable fit and great ball feel, with slight padding around the toe area for enhanced ball control and touch. Finished in this bright green, the Puma v1.11's will be very visible on the pitch and create a unique look.

After putting the new Puma v1.11 through their paces in the SoccerBible lab and also the SoccerBible Play Test, we can confirm that the boots tip the scales at just 225g. In the competitive speed boot game, this won't challenge the adiZero but is just 15g short of the Mercurial Superfly!

The new Black/White/Yellow Puma v1.11 football boots will be available to order worldwide from 1st September, and you can expect to pay around  £135 GBP / $200 USD / €150 EURO to own the latest edition of Puma's Speed series.
