With a World Cup in South America and an a squad that reads as a list of footballing superstar's, Brazil 2014 is Lionel Messi's best chance at World Cup glory and the perfect opportunity to cement his name as the greatest footballer to have ever lived. These ladies and gentleman are the boots he'll be doing it in.
Spread across all four of adidas' silos, the adidas 'Battle Pack' pack will by worn by all of adidas' contracted athletes during the 2014 World Cup in Brazil. Each boot is exactly 50% white and 50% black and the fiery gold colour of the three stripes represents the World Cup trophy.
The black and white patterns of the boots are inspired by the warpaint of native warriors and the iconic pavement patterns of ancient Mesopotamia perfected on the Copacabana beach. Each individual patterns is designed to express the attributes of each boot, as well as the attitude and abilities of the player type who wears them as they fight for victory.
