After Neymar wore his exclusive Gold Nike HyperVenoms against Chile yesterday we're taking a look back which other footballing icons have been given the Gold treatment by their respective brands. He may have only wore them for one half but Neymar's in good company here.
Neymar Jr - At just 22 years old Neymar is the youngest player to be celebrated with a pair of golden football boots, but with 35 goals in 53 games for Brazil, the Seleção superstar is proving he's up there with the very best in Brazilian history. Nike will be hoping their golden boy handles the heat in Brazil as they aim to lift the trophy on home soil. Expect many more Neymar exclusives if he leads Brazil all the way. 
Ronaldinho - The Brazilian king of tekkerz wore two different pairs of golden boots in his prime. The first pair to celebrate his second FIFA World Player of the Year in 2005 and the second pair these Ronaldinho 10R Dois football boots. His own colourway and own silo. Neymar's skills may match Ronaldinho's but he'll have to lift the World Cup to be considered in the same bracket.
Zinedine Zidane - Like Ronaldinho, Zinedine Zidane has also been presented with two set of Golden boots. In 1998 Zizou exclusively wore a gold version of the adidas Predator Accelerator and he also slipped into a signature gold Absolute colourway for the 2006 World Cup final in which he was infamously sent off in.
David Beckham - David Beckham was sorted out with his own DB Predator adiPower gold boots because, well, he's David Beckham. The ex-England captain received the gold personalisation by adidas to wear in the MLS during his LA Galaxy days.

Francesco Totti - Diadora rewarded Roma legend Totti with an all gold pair of their boots in 2006 for the Italian to wear in the Champions League. Totti has spent over 20 years playing for Roma, a tough act for Neymar to follow should he be held in such stature by Barca as Totti is by Roma fans.
