adidas begin their assault on 2015 by dropping a SL model of the new-generation 11Pro silo. The new year is set to be a dramatic one for the Three Stripes and they've kicked things off by shaving 75g off their heritage boot.
The new-generation 11Pro only landed at the end of November but adidas have already succeeded in eliminating excess weight to create an SL version that weighs in a competitive 180g compared to the standard editions that tip the scales at around 255g.
The removal of overlays on the upper has reduced weight while the internal skeleton which features on the standard issue is retained to hold the foot in place for superior locked down fit. An allover HybridTouch upper is used on top of a leather wrap to provide optimum touch and as with all adidas SL releases a SprintFrame, miCoach compatible outsole is used to keep weight to a minimum.
The colourway, which is titled Core Black/White/Semi Solar Yellow is a slick combination of modern heritage in a 50/50 split for a bold visual display although on pitch support is expected to be typically low. Of course, the 11Pro is all about comfort and adidas haven't neglected that feat by including a suede lining to keep the upper soft and a moulded sockliner with added memory foam for extra cushioning. Strong start to the year adidas, strong start indeed.
The new adidas 11Pro SL is available to pre-order now from selected online stockists including Pro-Direct Soccer ahead of a Jan 12 release. Thoughts? Drop us a line below.
