adidas have rolled out their on-pitch footwear collection for the 2015 Women's World Cup in Canada. The ACE15 and X15 land as the brand's first specially produced women’s boot pack and feature exclusive colourways and technology enhancements.
Different to the men’s boots, both women’s boots will appear in exclusive new colourways for the tournament in Canada this month. The colourways may have changed but the product benefits of the men’s shoes remain. The ACE15, worn by players such as Morgan Brian (USA) and Aya Miyama (Japan), is developed using a new ground control outsole, stud alignment and heelfit while the most prominent feature is the leather upper that sits on the women's ACE15.
The X15 will be worn by attack minded players such as Jonelle Filigno (Canada) and Becky Sauerbrunn (USA). As in the same style of the men's boot the women's X15 features the X-Cage, a new X-Claw stud alignment and the techfit collar, although the clean colour update moves it just ahead of the men's edition for us and demonstrates how simplistic the X15 could look with future paint jobs.
adidas have also unveiled the bespoke Official Match Ball to be used in the final, using the same technology used on the Brazuca. The Conext15 Final Vancouver ball bears the vibrant red of tournament hosts Canada, combined with a gold trim representing the Final match to be held on Sunday 5th July in Vancouver.
