adidas get their spring on with their next official on-pitch colourway to be worn by players competing in the Copa America and EURO 2016 for the remainder of the season.
The standard synthetic edition ACE 16.1 carries the silhouette of the first generation and proves to be equally as popular amongst players as the top-end laceless Purecontrol and 16.1 Primeknit. A strong palette of "Shock Blue" packs enough pop to stand tall on pitch as the title deciding games come thick and fast, and flashes of "Semi Solar Slime" provide an added sense of visibility on the laces (if you're still into those) and famous three stripes.
The ACE 16.1 synthetic model has been well received in its second-generation form, with players praising the more streamline design and its solid package of updated innovations including a unique three-layer engineered CTRL/WEB upper. Those technologies remain on the "Shock Blue" edition with only the paint work taking on a new look with this update.
A tidy set of three-toned colourways have ensured a smart start for the ACE 16.1, and it performs as well as it looks as we found out in our recent Laced Up Review. You'll start to see your usual ACE suspects lacing up in the new design to wear in the remaining title fights, relegation scraps and cup competitions.
