What you're looking at here is the new "Shock Blue" adidas ACE 16+ Purecontrol – the latest colour update for the laceless design and the colourway that adidas' pool of ACE players competing in the 2016 European Championships and the Copa America this summer will wear up until their respective tournaments kick off.
Tournament packs have a tendency to arrive in one colossal takeover and the anticpation following the adidas 'Battle Pack' 2014 World Cup designs is building for this summer. But before then adidas are keeping things clean with the reveal of the "Shock Blue" drop, which will be worn by the likes of Paul Pogba, Mesut Ozil, Ivan Rakitic and Oscar to see out their domestic seasons in.
Dropping in a combination of "Shock Blue/Solar Slime/White" the laceless Purecontrol leads the charge as the full ACE 16.1 collection, including Primeknit, synthetic and leather, jumps on the blue bandwagon. A crystal clean blue upper is accompanied by a matte-finished matching soleplate with touches of "Solar Slime" on the loop-holes and in amongst the "Shock Blue" upper.
Tech-wise it's as you were with the adidas ACE 16+ Purecontrol. Focusing on ultimate control, adidas have removed the laces to create the cleanest of ball contact areas that moulds around the foot for optimum comfort and sock-like fit. The larger striking area also benefits shooting as power and accuracy are maximised by the removal of any distractions and impediments.
