The second of seven is a sparkling sensation as Nike turn to chapter two of the Cristiano Ronaldo Superfly series. It's two down, five to go as we jump in for a closer look at the boot inspired by CR7's first step away from home on the long road to stardom.
The new 'Natural Diamond' design followed on from the first chapter, that paid to tribute to Ronaldo's place of birth, Madeira. The 'Savage Beauty' got the new CR7 series rolling in October last year and now Nike have moved onto the second stage of Cristiano Ronaldo's life, described by the man himself as his most difficult time. Chapter Two focuses on Ronaldo’s move away from home as a 12-year-old child to pursue his dream of becoming a professional footballer.
Wrapped in beautiful shades of metallic blue, the second chapter of Ronaldo's seven part boot series takes its 'Natural Diamond' title from the player's relentless determination and how he's forged his game through hard work over the years. The struggles of leaving home at such a young age are represented on the heel of the boot, which is designed to look rocky and rough, indicating the first few steps in his career. As the boot moves along to the forefoot, it smoothens out to represent Ronaldo's journey to global domination.
Playing further on the 'Natural Diamond' theme, Nike have added a sparkle to the 'CR7' branding on the heel and Swoosh that adorns the upper, giving the whole boot an added sense of exclusivity, a one-of-a-kind vibe that is mirrored by the player that will wear them. Just two boots in and it's already apparent that the full seven boot CR7 series is going to be one of football's most desirable collections. If the seventh is to be Ronaldo's last, it's the perfect way to round off a signature line for one of the world's greatest.
