Flip reversing the 'Red Limit' colourway on the X 16+ Purechaos, adidas have released an alternative, more low key edition of the X 16.1 in leather. Set to play a supporting role to the headline Red Limit, the "Black/White/Red" option is already being taken on by a number of adidas X players, including Man United trio Zlatan, De Gea and Jesse Lingered.
The X 16.1 is wrapped in a k-leather upper as the Red Limit collection swarms across every adidas offering, from pitch, to court, to pavement. With adidas opting to keep the red version of the X 16.1 exclusive to synthetic, they've pleased the traditionalist with a switched up colourway of their leather X. Available in firm ground only, it'll be a case of the right boot at the wrong time for many players in Europe.
The secondary "Black/White/Red" colourway may well be on the Chaos undercard as the 'Red Limit' remains the main event but you can expect this punchy underdog to be the people's champ in the amateur game, as well as reeling in big numbers on the professional scene. A simplified silo with traditional tweaks. If it's got Zlatan's nod of approval, then that's good enough for us.
