Hitting it hard with a bold blast of blue, adidas land their first official on-pitch colourway of 2017 in the form of the ACE 17+ Purecontrol – the third design to wrap around the next-generation silo which features Boost technology.
The ACE 17+ Purecontrol is very much the trending boot on the market right now. A heavily backed campaign, high profile player appearances at events and a design worthy of the very attention its demanding. The ACE 17+ Purecontrol turned up late to the party in 2016 and, for many, snuck out the back door with the title for best release of the year. For 2017, it's about adding more options on that trademark laceless upper.
Following on from the "Chequered Black" edition that welcomed in the new year, the "Blue Blast" design will be worn by all of adidas' Purecontrol players, led by Paul Pogba and Mesut Ozil and replacing the "Red Limit" launch edition. The "Blue Blast" ACE 17+ Purecontrol is equipped with a key technology alteration from the launch colourway that sees adidas use the same collar upper construction used on the boots of their professional players. The design of the ACE 17+ Purecontrol collar is now fully addressed after the teething problems of the "Red Limit" edition to provide a more secure fit.
A transparent window proudly showcases the Boost technology in the sole of the boot and the Purecut Sock System provides an optimal fit to help lock the foot in place when moving at speed on pitch. Cage and Street versions in a matching colourway will be released from January 26 as adidas complete their full "Blue Blast" collection.
