2017 began with a whole lot of Nike noise as the Swoosh launched their third generation Hypervenom. An all singing, all dancing parade saw the "Posion Green/Hyper Orange" colourway hog the limelight, but in the mix of the madness there was a cooler, more casual understudy waiting in the wings. That boot finds itself headlining the Nike 'Radiation Flare' Women's Pack in "Wolf Grey/Max Orange".
Dropping in options, the "Wolf Grey/Purple Dynasty/Max Orange" colourway, to give its full title, arrives with a Dynamic Fit Collar (DF) version and lo-cut Flyknit choice for the first time. Shades of the OG Mercurial Superfly launch colourway may we add, and that's never a bad thing. Sticking to the same split design as the men's edition, it's a sharp display of attacking prowess for the ladies.
Are you male? Would you wear a pair? If you answered yes to either of those questions then you may be in luck. Nike's size run for the women's collection runs quite generously in the fact it accommodates players up to a size 9.5 UK. The DF edition above, which will be on the feet of Nike's leading female player and USWNT striker Alex Morgan, features the same technology as the men's Hypervenom DF, including Poron foam pods on the upper, new Dynamic Fit Collar set-up and far more flexible plate.
The lo-cut Hypervenom 3 has arguably snuck ahead of its hi-collared sister for the launch of the third generation Hypervenom. Nike have delivered a Flyknit lo-cut for the first time, a boot that has opened new doors to design and ticked a big box for players needs. Call us a cross-dresser if you want, not bothered. We're 'avin these.
