Adidas drop a Turbocharge bonus ball by throwing the Copa 17.1 into the mix. Demonstrating the relevance of their reinvigorated silo, adidas whip up a traditional take to sit alongside the X, ACE and Messi editions.
Dressed in a spare suit borrowed from the latest adidas MESSI 16+ Pureagility, the COPA 17.1 Turbocharge edition adopts a traditional black k-leather upper typical of the heritage silo, finished with "Copper Metallic" stripes and branding. Packaged up in a smart aesthetic to offer a simple alternative to the brand's rapidly progressive innovation race. It's leather, it's got laces and it ain't offending your eyes. Many still respectively and understandingly consider that job done.
The DNA of the original adidas Copa Mundial is still present; the low-key colourway is proof of that, as is the super-soft k-leather upper. But it's the finishing executions that make the COPA 17.1 an all-round more efficient performer. The compression tongue and Sprintframe outsole keeping the weight down and the style up.
