The adidas X17+ Purespeed is taken in for a Confederations Cup makeover as adidas transform their new-generation boot with a graphic display inspired by the host nation's Russian Rubies.
Arriving as one half of the adidas 'Confederations Cup Pack' the X 17+ Purespeed mirrors the design of the ACE 17+ Purecontrol with a stunning combination of red and white sat on top of a metallic red soleplate. Dropping as the latest instalment of the adidas 'Limited Collection' the X 17+ design will it shelves in restricted number although it isn't expected to appear on pitch a the tournament, with adidas likely to keep their players in the 'Dust Storm' pack.
That patterned red aesthetic that soaks into the bottom of the boot and extends across the upper is taken from the design of the official adidas match ball for the Confederations Cup and is inspired by the Russian Ruby. A disruptive addition to the X 17+ Purespeed family as the limited edition design arrives as the first colour update since the boot launched last month.
Giving the Confederations Cup some bespoke treatment to fill a summer of low profile football, it's a colour-scheme that many players would like to see return when the 2017/18 kicks off in August. For now though, it keeps things ticking over with stylish creativity before adidas reach for the paint pots as pre-season approaches.
