What we're looking at here is the adidas COPA Mid FG GTX and you have absolutely no idea what to make of these, do you? That's fine, because we don't either. All we do know is that they look like something you'd pack for a fixture against Mount Everest away.

Looking like something conceived from a hiking boot having its non-consensual way with a COPA football boot, the COPA Mid GTX edition is a mid-collar version of the traditional COPA 18, which features Gore-tex technology to keep the feet warm and waterproof. It is officially the last COPA 18 now that the COPA 19 is on the scene. It's kind of beautifully ugly and we think we want a pair.

So when do I wear them? Yeah, that's the question that's puzzling us too. If you genuinely need to wear a pair of these on Saturday afternoon, then the chances are that your game has already been called off. If it hasn't then it's obviously very wet and cold so the Firm Ground exclusive sole-plate is a bit odd. Basically, it's gotta be very cold, with a bit of melting frost. Ah, we're not sure. They look pretty decent for walking the dog in if all else fails.

What we are sure on, is that the TR edition (below) is absolute fire. Yep, that sole that looks like it was born from tank tracks combining with the Boost tech and mid collar. That's the one we want. It's also worth noting that adidas have created a TF edition of the shoe to complete the full collection in collaboration with Gore-tex.
