Nike look set to land some limited edition disruption as Kylian Mbappe has revealed a modern Mercurial Superfly 360 edition of the Nike Green Speed series on Instagram to indicate a launch date is imminent.

Originally launched in 2012, the Greenspeed (GS) was Nike’s lightest boot at the time, weighing in at a mere 160g. Made entirely from renewable and recycled materials, it was a revolution in the boot making world and an example of Nike showing what they are capable of. Okay, so they weren’t the most comfortable of boots but the concept behind them was spot on, and now it looks to be on the cusp of a return in the same colourway as the OG.

Neymar debuted the originals in the 2012 Olympic Games and now it appears that PSG teammate Mbappe will be sporting the 2018 version in Superfly form– dynamic fit collar and all. As with the original, rumour has it that the Superfly GS 360 will be a limited release with just a restricted number available – most likely 2018 pairs globally.

This new GS model features a flyknit construction, presumably made from recycled materials. The Dynamic Fit collar appears to have taken on a slightly altered shape and it clearly places "GS" on the soleplate. It retains the same black and volt colour blocking as the original, tying it neatly to its 2012 counterpart.
