adidas launch BAPE Adizero 8.0

Okay, so this doesn’t technically come from the “football” that we’d usually report on, but when A BATHING APE combine with the Three Stripes for something that looks as good as the adidas x BAPE Adizero 8.0, well, we can’t just ignore it.

The boots – or cleats to give them their American monicker – land as part of a limited edition capsule that’s been created in celebration of the biggest sporting event in the US, the Super Bowl.

Featuring BAPE’s iconic camo pattern in two schemes of green and black applied to a range of adidas Football cleats, footwear, apparel, equipment and accessories, the collection is yet another example of the increasing streetwear influence on performance clothing that's occurring across multiple sporting environments.

BAPE have shared a flirtatious relationship with football over the last few years, with their collaboration with PSG at the end of 2018 standing out as a real highlight. And while we can't help but wish that the adidas x BAPE Adizero 8.0 was designed for the beautiful game, you only have to cast your mind back to 2014 when the Japanese brand hooked up with PUMA for their take on the evoSPEED for such an effort. Still, on this evidence it's not a stretch to see the Three Stripes and BAPE coming together again for a signature camo look for the COPA, Predator, X and Nemeziz. Here's hoping...

The BAPE x adidas Adizero 8.0 cleat will be available at the BAPE STORE on 2 February 2019.
