Swaggering onto the scene with some seriously sleek style, Nike kick off 2019 with the Black Lux Pack, suiting up the Mercurial Superfly, Vapor, PhantomVSN and Tiempo in a base black with interrupted golden accents.
The Black Lux Pack looks every bit the luxury that the name surely denotes, with classy new looks for Nike’s premium silos. The resplendent brushed effect gold that appears on the Swoosh and notably on the ‘M’ heel branding of the Mercurial serves to make them stand out even more, providing an almost ethereal yet majestic quality to all four boots.
Catching a lot of people off guard, this drop has arrived earlier than the expected February release – ready for the kicker though? It has only dropped in the United States. That’s right, if you’re in Europe you’re going to have to wait for another month or so (probably mid-February) to get your hands on a pair. But that’s enough time to let the hype and demand for them build to an absolute crescendo. Plus, it's a FG exclusive pack, so a release for very early spring make a little more sense.
Each respective silo is dressed in a smart suit of black with golden accessories for a premium vibe. The "Black Lux" pack is low-key but drenched in class as Nike turn on some alternative aesthetics to kick start their 2019 plans. The collection will not be dished out to Nike's pro players to wear on pitch though; there'll be a new pack launching soon ready for that sort of spotlight.
Tech-wise there’s nothing new here… not yet anyway. This is the first time that the Hypervenom doesn’t make the standard line up – Nike have bigger plans for that story in the very near future. That new project has already been seen on the feet of numerous leading Nike professional players towards the end of 2018, so you can hope for a "Black Lux" edition of that project in the weeks after it officially launches.
