Mixing Spanish flair with Japanese craftsmanship, Mizuno launch the Morelia Neo II F9T, the first-ever signature edition boot for striker Fernando Torres, and at the heart of its inspiration are highlights from the World Cup winner’s glittering career.
The F9T arguably arrives a decade or so late, but what it lacks in punctuality, it more than makes up for in execution. Combining the sumptuous ultra-thin and super-soft K-leather upper that carries the ‘Made in Japan’ hallmark of quality with the call-outs to the illustrious career highlights of El Nino, Mizuno delivers a boot that’s been well worth the wait. Now plying his trade for Japanese side Sagan Tosu in the twilight of his career, it's hard to believe that Torres has never had a signature boot before in his career to date. At least he can tick that one off his bucket list and retire a happy man.
The Morelia Neo II F9T comes with a predominantly white upper that sits on a ‘High Risk Red’ soleplate. The Runbird logo is also red, while gold accents pop throughout to finish the classy look. The red and white of the boot harks back to the two clubs with which Torres enjoyed his best spells: Liverpool and boyhood club Atletico Madrid, while the combination of the red with gold brings back memories of the World Cup winner’s exploits with his national team. A gold ‘F9T’ logo sits on the heel above the name for whom the boot has been created for a tidy finishing touch.
Made in Spain, but crafted to perfection in Japan.
