Giving its starring duo a seasonal refresh ready for the return to action, New Balance launch the ‘Rise & Reign’ pack, presenting the newly released next generation Tekela V3 and Furon V6 in contrasting light and dark colourways.
Hot on the heels of launching the next generation Tekela V3 – the brand’s first laceless boot – New Balance reveal the ‘Rise and Reign’ pack, with a contrasting combination wrapped across the Furon V6 and the Tekela V3. The pack is inspired by the idea of rising early to put in the hard graft that will eventually see you reign on the pitch. The colour split of light and dark that places the two boots in opposition is an interesting choice, especially when you consider that the Tekela V3’s launch colourway was a close match to the look of the Furon here, while that boot launched in a “Twisted Silver” look in March that would’ve been a far closer match to the Rise & Reign Tekela.
However, the contrast is nice, giving each boot its own individual stance in the limited pack. On the light side, the new Tekela V3 arrives in a “White/Chromatic Yellow/Neo Flame” colourway – only its second look since launch. In place of laces is a full foot stretch-knit upper with an integrated hypoknit closure system. The Kinetic Stitch technology of its predecessor is still present, only here it’s driven by a new algorithm and joined by a unique embedded pattern in the upper. Those eye-catching 3D sections of colour – a carry over from the “Navy Eclipse/Silver Metallic” colourway – highlight the strike zone, increasing ball feedback to offer improved touch and control.
On the dark side, the Furon V6 is presented in a “Black/Chromatic Yellow/Neo Flame” colourway. The Furon V6 is New Balance’s lightest boot to date, and that’s thanks in the most part to the new adaptive, lightweight FIT WEAVE stretch upper. The knit material boasts life-long shape retention, so you know that the fit isn’t going to change from game to game. A hyper-lock tuned lacing system and collar package combine to ensure that the foot remains locked in to the boot, while targeted, data driven support zones offer minimal weight and incredible responsiveness.
