Rolling out some special edition treatment, Mizuno unveil a premium pairing that pays tribute to the Brazilian victory at the 2002 World Cup. It sees a limited edition release of the Wave Cup Legend paired up with the tweaked Rebula Cup.
Paying tribute to the to the victory at the 2002 FIFA World Cup held in South Korea and Japan by the Brazil national football team, Mizuno launch the Wave Cup Legend – most notable for its appearance on the feet of Rivaldo at the aforementioned tournament, and Rebula Cup – a special version of the classic Rebula, created for this pack.
Brazil were the most potent team at the 2002 tournament, spear-headed by the devastating duo of Ronaldo and Rivaldo, and they went on to win the final against Germany 2–0, making them the first and only country to have won the World Cup five times (pentacampeão). This is hardly the first time that Mizuno have paid tribute to the success by the Seleção, but when we’re talking about a boot as iconic as the Wave Cup Legend, then we’re not gonna grumble.
As part of the tribute, the latest evolution of the Rebula family features a newly engineered K-Leather upper, which is softer than ever for the ultimate comfort, while a high-grip (FT GRIP technology) synthetic leather midfoot guarantees perfect control of the ball (N.B. the skill aspect is down to the wearer!). The outsole boasts integrated stabiliser studs to boost agility.

Compared to the version released in 2018, this latest release switched up the colour of the K-Leather upper in favour of an elegant blue with flashes of white and yellow. As a tidy sign off, the iconic tongue features five stars to celebrate the Seleção’s success in 2002 FIFA World Cup tournament.
