With a strong focus on touch, comfort and ball control, Umbro launch the Tocco, a new boot designed to give every playmaker the tools they need to run the game from the middle of the park.
For those of you not up to speed on your Italian, Tocco means touch. So it’s a safe bet that Umbro have designed this boot for exactly that reason, improving touch – and therefore control – on the ball, perfect for the players that like to get on the ball and control the tempo of the game. It combines the superior control of a classic leather boot with the lightweight profile of a speed boot.
So how have they gone about doing this then? Well, from a construction point of view, the upper is made from water resistant Italian Idro-leather with 75% less water absorption – this means you you stay lightweight, maintaining your control no matter the weather. Not revolutionary in this day and age, but a nice inclusion.
On the forefoot, D3O® is once again used, as it has been on the UX Accuro III. It reduces ball bounce, significantly enhancing first touch accuracy. Another nice addition.
For added levels of comfort, memory foam sits behind the leather across the mid foot, moulding to your foot for a bespoke fit based on personal patterns of movement and playing style. The ankle collar has then been specially engineered to provide easy access, exceptional comfort and security for the heel.
On the underside, the wishbone outsole guarantees rigidity in the rear and arch, while allowing flexibility in the forefoot. Tooled in dual density Pebax® for maximum energy return, while the stud configuration maximises grip and endurance.
