The leaves are falling, the nights are drawing in, and autumn is well and truly upon us. To tie in with the autumnal hues that we’re surrounded by, Nike have released a seasonal refresh for the small-sided game, wrapping the Lunar Gato II, Premier II Sala and Tiempo React Legend IC in swathes of red in support of the recently released React Gato.
The Nike React Gato is the prime player amongst Nike’s small-sided squad, and it released recently in a "Cardinal Red/Crimson Tint/White" colour combination. To support that release, the rest of the entourage are now presented in corresponding colourways, with fresh options for the Lunar Gato II, Premier II Sala and Tiempo React Legend IC ensuring any style of play on indoor courts is covered.
The Tiempo Legend is the only silo to carry across from Nike’s prime pitch players, although the Premier II is also a favourite at grass roots levels. Here though, the Tiempo breaks away from the Phantom GT and Mercurial to team up with the the other small-sided specialists in the Swoosh’s roster, adopting a bold red across the calfskin leather upper with a wild scattered design on the outsole.
That design is carried across to both the Premier II Sala and the Lunar Gato II, dominating the sole of the former in the same way as the Tiempo, and merely flashing through the forefoot of the latter. Red again dominates the suede upper of the Premier, although an imposing black swoosh breaks up the colour block. If you dig the sole design but not the upper so much, the Premier II Sala also comes with an “Iron Grey” upper.
For the Lunar Gato II, it’s that familiar heel and forefoot split, with red restricted to the rear, leaving that ultra-soft goat leather vamp in pure white. The colour split continues on the Lunarlon sole, which has been combined with an articulated traction pattern to create a springy, responsive ride for quick cuts.
