Now this is how you pull off a limited edition boot. The fastest animal on the planet meets a brand new breed of speed, as adidas present the X Ghosted + PF, wrapping the silo in a stunning Peregrine Falcon outer graphic, bringing with it F50 Yamamoto vibes a plenty.
Part of the inspiration behind the radical redesign of the adidas X earlier this year came from the Peregrine Falcon – stands to reason given that it's the fastest creature in the world and the X Ghosted is a dedicated speed silo. But now that inspiration takes centre stage for the limited edition X Ghosted+ PF, with a radical wrap giving the boot a completely unique look, conjuring memories of the outstanding F50 adizero Yamamoto line from 2014.
As its natural successor, the X has always had a close relationship with the F50 line, typified by the recent ‘Memory Lane’ release, and adidas continue the trend set by the F50 adizero by fully covering the upper of the X Ghosted+ in an animal graphic. For this latest limited edition, it’s the lightning-quick peregrine falcon in attack mode that serves as inspiration, with the eye-catching image coating their lightweight upper, swooping towards the forefoot. Underneath, the same sprint spike-style forefoot and springy carbon-fibre insert as the regular X Ghosted+ continues to offer incredible propulsion and speed, and it's presented in a silver shimmer with red flashes through the stud tips.
The X Ghosted + PF will be available to purchase from this Saturday, 19 December, and it will arrive in a colourful presentation box, fitting of the design. It’s also set to be worn by Tottenham’s Lucas Moura, Inter’s Achraf Hakimi, and Marseille’s Michael Cuisance in their sides’ respective fixtures tonight against Liverpool, Napoli and Rennes respectively, with the players sticking with them for a further two fixtures after that.
