Pleasing the purists of the game, New Balance once again present their current lineup of Furon v6+ and Tekela v3 in a traditional leather construction for the ‘Defiance Leather’ pack, with both being drained of colour, leaving a clean white look.
Never ones to forget those that favour a more traditional feel from their footwear, New Balance have once again presented their current roster in leather. The ‘Defiance Leather’ pack follows on from last year’s leather pack, with the Furon v6+ and its additional tweaks being the only technological mark up. But where the last pack stuck with a mostly black presentation, here we get a contrasting white look, reminiscent of last year’s ‘Energy Streak’ pack.
For the ‘Defiance Leather’ pack, the newly revamped Furon v6+ gets a “Light Cyclone/Bleached Lime Glo/Citrus Punch” colourway. Sounds more fruity than it is, as in actuality it arrives in a nice contrast to the newly launched ‘Lead The Hunt’ colourway, which is far more deserving of the vibrant sounding colourway. So here it gets a predominantly white base with grey shades lending it a deeper texture, most notable in the flashy ’N’ branding on the forefoot. The look is then accented by flashes of “Bleached Lime Glo” and “Citrus Punch” colourings that pop through the branding and studs.
For the Tekela v3 it’s a similar story, with the same “Light Cyclone/Bleached Lime Glo/Citrus Punch” colourway being executed. It again sees a light base joined by slightly deeper grey tones, with the brighter citrus colours accentuating the ’N’ branding on the lateral side, while the wavy lines pop on the full foot stretch-knit upper, which still boasts the integrated Hypoknit and laceless closure for secure lock-down. And it’s all contained within the premium leather upper – including K-leather in the vamp for improved touch and feel.
