Ploughing into the archives to pay tribute to a legend of the game, Diadora launch the ‘Icon Pack’, which honours Ballon d'Or winner George Weah. The pack contains two boots – the Diadora Brasil and the B-Elite Italia – both presented in the iconic red colourway that Weah wore during his time at AC Milan.

George Weah at AC Milan was something else. Joining the Serie A giants in 1995 he lined up in attack alongside fellow Diadora wearer Roberto Baggio and Dejan Savićević, firing his side to the Serie A title and ending the season as Milan's top goalscorer. In recognition of his performances, Weah was awarded the Balon d’Or in 1995. On the pitch, his special talent was matched by his unique red Diadora Brasil boots, and it is these that Diadora have chosen to recreate for the ‘Icon Pack’, with only 46 pairs being made to honour his 46 Serie A goal tally for I Rossoneri.

A beautifully faithful recreation of the original the limited edition Diadora Brasil is made in italy, marking out its quality craftsmanship. The upper is made from an ulra-ultra-soft K-leather upper, while that quilted vamp feels as premium as ever. Of course, the recreation wouldn’t be complete without that iconic folder tongue, which Weah wore with such flair back in the 90s. The “Fluo Red” hat dominates the look is joined by white accents that flash down the side branding and on the soleplate. As signature looks go, this was way ahead of its time, and still looks the part 26 years later.

Joining the limited edition Brasil is the B-Elite Italia Tech, which packs in modern day innovation while still paying tribute to Weah through the signature colourway. The B-Elite is constructed from a premium full grain leather, taking the best bits of the OG – the plush feel and forgiving shape – and combining them with a modern, lightweight soleplate, which extends into an external heel cup for stability. Again, a fold over tongue is included to honour Weah’s inimitable style.
