Arriving stylishly late, the Tiempo Legend 9 finally joins the Nike Football Recharge party, getting suitably dressed out in a corresponding colourway that sees it sit alongside the Mercurial Superfly 8, Vapor 14 and Phantom GT II.
The Nike Footballl Recharge pack dropped at the end of last week, but conspicuous by its absence was the Tiempo Legend 9, with only the Mercurial Superfly 8, Vapor 14 and Phantom GT II seemingly featuring. Odd considering this was all set to be Nike’s second full pack drop of the seaosn, following the Motivation pack. Then the pros started lacing up in the new colourway, and low and behold there was the Tiempo, on the feet of players such as Virgil Van Dijk. Clearly there was something Nike weren’t telling us.
So now we get up close and personal with the new look for the Tiempo Legend 9, which picks up the same colourings as the other boots from the pack, but rearranges them, making “Grey Fog” the dominant colour, with the “Sapphire” wrapping around the heel and the “Volt” flashing through the Swoosh.
It’s a move that Nike have done before, transitioning from the Mercurial, which places one colour as its primary (Sapphire for this pack), through the Phantom GT II, which features both colours (Sapphire and Grey Fog) in an almost even split, before finishing with the Tiempo, which almost inverts the look of the Mercurial. Smart way to tie a pack together while keeping each individual silo fresh.
