adidas Launch Signature Salah X Speedflow 'Prepare For Battle'

Mo Salah is undoubtedly one of the greatest players on the planet right now, and has been for the last few seasons. With that in mind it’s amazing to think that the Liverpool forward has yet to have his own signature boot, but Adidas put that right just in time for Egypt’s AFCON campaign with the ‘Prepare For Battle’ X Speedflow MS.1 – a design that nods to the Egyptian King while also taking inspiration from the 2014 Battle Pack in the execution of its design.

Salah and Egypt get their AFCON campaign underway with a tough match against Nigeria on Tuesday, 11 January, and you can expect to see him wearing his new signature kicks in that match. Limited to just 1069 pairs worldwide – because 69 is the number Salah needs to reach to become Egypt's top goalscorer – each pair is marked with a unique number that sits on the heel below Salah’s logo. Speaking of which, it’s a golden ‘MO’ on the left boot and a crown motif on the right, both presented in gold. 

The boot comes in a “White/Gold Metallic/Scarlet” colourway and is presented in a graphic execution that is reminiscent of the ‘Battle Pack’. But while that was a black and white look, here we get the inclusion of the red and gold for a regal finish fitting of the Egyptian King. The gold flows down either side of each boot, while the red drives down from the centre, from collar to forefoot.

And it’s not just a signature boot that Salah is getting. Along with the X Speedflow MS.1  in the ‘Prepare For Battle’ collection is a set of signature apparel that comes in the vivid red that’s synonymous with Egypt. The Three Stripes branding runs down the sleeves in gold, standing out on a black base, while the crown logo is the perfect sign off. The collection features a tee and track jacket and pants, while adidas have also created a special Mo Salah UltraBoost to round out the range.
