Completing this edition of the ‘Eclipse Pack’, PUMA release the Ultra 1.4 in a black wrap, accented by white pops in the branding and a bright hit of green in the forefoot of the soleplate.
Following the launch of the next generation Future Z 1.3, which has dominated the brand’s on-pitch activity for the last month and a half, PUMA now turn their attention to the Ultra. The speed silo recently arrived in silvery hues to complete the 'Instinct Pack', and now it goes for a more subtle shade, dressed out mostly in black to round off the current instalment of the ‘Eclipse Pack’.
So the Future Z arrived as the first part of the Eclipse Pack back in mid March, and now, a month later, the Ultra follows suit, arriving in the same “Puma Black/Puma White/Fizzy Light” colourway. Unlike previous versions of the Eclipse pack, which have fully adopted the blackout look, this edition sees a black base joined by some fairly bright accents, most notably in the underside of the forefoot of the ultra, which is bright and bold, rendering this edition more of a semi-eclipse in our opinion.
As for technology, this is an aesthetic update only, so the Ultra 1.4 is still lighter and faster than ever, thanks to the ultra-lightweight MATRYXEVO technology, which combines technical Carbon yarns and transparent Mono yarns to create a high-tech performance material whilst minimising weight. The upper is connected to an internal SPEEDCAGE for lightweight support to keep your foot locked.
