Building on a long and illustrious history of fast in football, adidas drop the ‘Speed Legacy Pack’, bringing back the Battle Pack F50 Adizero IV look from 2014 and lining it up alongside a classic leather version, both of which ride in of the X Speedflow soleplate.
Back at the start of the new year adidas launched the limited edition ‘Prepare For Battle’ X Speedflow for Mo Salah, which saw a reinterpretation of the ‘Battle Pack’ graphic that was used at the 2014 World Cup in Brazil. Now they follow that up with a straight-up one to one recreation of the ‘Battle Pack’ F50 Adizero IV’s super-lightweight HybridTouch upper, complete with the same unique black and white graphic and gold Three Stripes.
That recreation is joined by another limited-edition version, and it’s one that replaces the usual synthetic upper with a soft, adaptive leather for a timeless on-pitch feel. The same print still appears, but here it appears as an embossed imprint on the leather. It’s presented in a pristine “White/White/Silver Metallic” colourway, where the white base is accented by the silver details on the branding and an iridescent soleplate.
And speaking of soleplates, to ensure that both boots are able to stand up to the rigours of the modern game they feature the X Speedform’s soleplate, complete with lightweight Carbitex Speedframe.
The F50 Adizero IV is set to be worn by Timo Werner, Alexander Isak, Diego Lainez, Ashley Lawrence, Jeni Hermoso, Alisha Lehmann and Mary Fowler, while the leather version will be worn by Joao Felix, Georginio Wijnaldum, Dani Olmo and Alessia Russo.
