Nike Drop A Second Colourway For The Nike Phantom Ultra Venom

Limited edition gets a little less limited, as Nike drop a new colourway of the Phantom Ultra Venom, offering a second chance to get your hands on the boot that pays tribute to past Hypervenom models, combining them with the Phantom to serve as a glimpse into the future of the silo.

Did you miss out on the limited edition Nike Phantom Ultra Venom when it dropped last month? Well, you wouldn’t have been alone if you did. But thankfully there’s now a second chance to get your hands on a pair, as Nike drop the boot that is a natural successor to 2017’s  Mercurial Vapor Flyknit Ultra in a new “Black/Pink Blast” colourway, following on from the initial “Black/Bright Citrus” look.

The current Phantom GT II is a direct descendant of the Hypervenom line, and the Phantom Ultra Venom acknowledges that, arriving as a special edition dose of nostalgia that’s at the same time built from innovation. The main calling card is the fact it’s once again constructed from Flyknit, just like the Mercurial Vapor Flyknit Ultra, with the lightweight layers combining with NikeSkin, while Flywire cables ensure a secure, locked-down fit.

A key identifier of the Hypervenom was always the trademark texturing, which gets a new take here so that the boot continues to offer superior control while it's also able to generate extreme spin.

Down below, and the Hyper-Reactive soleplate from the Hypervenom 3 makes a triumphant return, this time featuring that vibrant “Pink Blast” colour. It allows the forefoot to flex naturally in multiple directions, providing a springy, responsive feel, while it’s specifically designed to maintain good contact with the ground when cutting and turning, and it was always a favourite of professionals – for good reason.
