PUMA Launch The Limited-Edition Future 1.4 NJR Rare

As if he needed any more help standing out on the pitch, PUMA have given Neymar a new signature edition boot, the Future 1.4 NJR ‘Rare’, which catches the eye thanks to a shiny colour way that’s inspired by rare metals.

Neymar stands as one of the best players in the world, and as one of PUMA’s key athletes. As such, the brand must be only too happy to roll out a new limited edition signature boot for the Brazilian, and it arrives in the form of the Future 1.4 NJR ‘Rare’, so named as its look is inspired by rare metals. So what we get is a “PUMA Silver/Platinum Grey/Sunset Glow/Elektro Purple” colourway, which splits red and blue accents on the right and left boot respectively.

The Future silo continues to be all about future innovation and pushing the boundaries of technology, and this results in a boot that specifically leaves the option of laces up to the wearer. The second-generation FUZIONFIT+ technology adapts to the shape of your foot to give you the perfect balance of support and flexibility in each of the key zones, ensuring optimal fit and performance, with or without laces. It’s a key step in the Future’s development, with that choice actually being made official, rather than players such as Marco Reus simply opting to remove the laces from previous models.

The FUZIONFIT+ knit utilises a specific mix of polyester and spandex yarns, with special technical yarns to create the perfect balance of compression, comfort, and durability for that second-skin feeling.

The adaptive compression technology perfectly adjusts to the contours of each foot. Paired with a lightweight Nano Grip sockliner insole, the technology minimises foot slippage inside the boot, allowing you to maintain power transfer.

The Future also features Advanced Creator Zones that are engineered to enhance ball grip and provide softness in the forefoot, which is key for optimal control and touch when dribbling, passing, and finishing. The mesh material in the forefoot provides a thinner layer between foot and ball for added touch sensitivity. The Advanced Creator Zone patterns provide a mix of grippy textures that help to manipulate the ball.

Finally, on the underside, the Dynamic Motion System outsole is designed for optimal traction. The super lightweight PEBA tooling system, with its eye-catching soleplate, reduces weight and provides a solid base to generate acceleration in all directions.
