Taking cues from the automotive world, where prototype cars are often wrapped to disguise new features, PUMA reveal the Ultra Ultimate ‘Teaser Edition’, which sees the boot enveloped in a dazzle camo design.
PUMA have a history of utilising a dazzle camo effect to distort and disguise the features of some of its newer boots. It was only back in March of this year that we got the Future Z 1.3 Teaser Edition, and now focus switches to the Ultra Ultimate, which arrives 10 years on from the evoSPEED dazzle camo. An oddly timed arrival, considering the fact that the Ultra Ultimate first debuted back in June, and has since gone on to have a further two releases. But who are we to question the logic of teasing a boot that’s already out?
So, what we get here is the Ultra Ultimate as we already know it, with the upper constructed from PUMA’s innovative and lightweight ULTRAWEAVE technology, the brand’s lightest, highest-performance material ever developed – the same material that is used for the brand’s primary jerseys. PWRPRINT in the upper then offers micro level stability, enhanced ball contact and durability.
But all of that is hidden by the upper graphic, which features dazzle camouflage – a complex pattern of geometric shapes in contrasting colours, interrupting and intersecting each other, the aim being a pattern that distorts size, shape and speed. Certainly achieves that, while also being a unique new look for the next gen upgrade boot.
