Taking inspiration from a legend’s history in the game, Pantofola d’Oro have joined forces with Inter Milan and Argentina icon Javier Zanetti to create two special edition Lazzarinis to help raise funds for his charity.
Fresh off of producing a special edition Lazzarini for sport retailer Pro:Direct’s 25th anniversary, Italian craft masters, Pantofola d’Oro have now turned their attention to supporting Inter Milan legend, Javier Zanetti. To do this, the brand have produced two special edition Lazzarini boots, one inspired by the Argentine national colours, and the other by those of Inter Milan, with the proceeds of both going to Fundación P.U.P.I.
The Fundación P.U.P.I. is an Argentine nonprofit organisation that provides aid to poor and disadvantaged children. The foundation is predominantly localised in the Buenos Aires Province, particularly in townships where the majority of the population live below the poverty line.
"When I look back to my childhood, many concrete scenes come to my mind, good ones and bad ones,” Zanetti explained. “I had a difficult childhood, and even though I don't live in my country at present, I'm well aware of what's going on there and the devastating effect it's having on our poorest children. I've always believed that our public actions need to take account of our social responsibility.”
Along with the colour ways (“White/Blue” for Argentina, “Black/Blue” for Inter), the charity foundation’s logo appears on the heel of both, as well as three stars, representing Argentina’s three world cup wins.
