Arriving as the first instalment in the new ‘Crazyrush Pack’, adidas have lifted the veil on the next generation X Crazyfast, which comes in three distinct models, all packed full of 'AERO' innovations built to unlock speed in all moments of the game.
Back at the beginning of June, adidas released the X Crazylight, giving a sneak peek at what was in store in the future of the X silo. Then we got introduced to the all-new X Crazyfast as part of the limited edition and extremely exclusive adidas x Prada collection, but for the majority of us, that release was largely restricted to admiring from afar. Now though, we get the proper launch and a proper look at the next generation of the speed silo, with the X Crazyfast arriving in three distinct models.
So, what we get are three choices effectively: first up, there’s the X Crazyfast+, the very pinnacle of innovation. It’s the lightest option going, and will be the choice for those at the peak of the game. The + model is then complemented by the X Crazyfast laced and laceless .1 models, which both feature lightweight advanced technologies adapted for footballers of all levels, across varied price points.

Getting down to it, probably the biggest point of note across the board is the update to adidas’s innovative SPEEDFRAME sole plate technology. The update includes a replacement of the previous carbon version with a new AEROPLATE insert that makes the overall plate 5g lighter. This update provides optimal comfort and responsiveness, while retaining the same design features for propulsion and dynamic movement, with the stud design built to optimise traction during rapid acceleration.
Speed-focused updates continue onto the upper, with the .1 options boasting Aerocage – an engineered lining designed to provide ideal support and stability by hugging the mid-foot, and AEROPACITY SPEEDSKIN - a single layer breathable monomesh which provides comfort throughout the foot and offers a second skin feel. Meanwhile, the The + version provides the next level in innovation to the .1 options, with a super lightweight upper comprised of single layer AEROPACITY SPEEDSKIN+ moulded to the minimalistic AEROCAGE+, both of which have been optimised to be lightweight while still providing support and stability at high speeds.
Both of the .1 models feature an engineered PRIMEKNIT collar that give players familiar foot-hugging comfort and optimal direct ball contact, with the options of laceless, and laced for increased adjustability. The + then comes in a floating tongue construction with superlight laces to help keep the foot locked in place.
