PUMA Provide Neymar With Signature Future Ultimate 'Instituto'

Gone (to Saudi Arabia) but not forgotten, Neymar gets his latest signature edition boot from PUMA, which arrives in the form of the Future Ultimate ‘Instituto’.

Like so many superstars, Neymar cashed in with a big money move to the Saudi Pro League this summer, leaving PSG to join Al Hilal. But that doesn’t mean that his legacy of signature edition boots has ended, with PUMA launching the latest in the Brazilian’s line with the Future Ultimate ‘Instituto’, which was designed by kids from the Instituto Projeto Neymar Jr. Further to this, as well as Neymar himself, the Brazilian will also handpick 10 other upcoming next-gen athletes to wear the boots.

The Instituto Neymar Jr. is a community centre founded by Neymar Jr. to support underprivileged youth in his old Praia Grande neighbourhood, near Santos. PUMA worked with children from the Instituto to create graphics inspired by the Brazilian idol and celebrate Neymar Jr. for giving back to the community that shaped him. The children were briefed to draw what ‘Neymar means to them’ and how he has inspired them, with PUMA then using a mix of different graphics that the children created for the final design.

The Brazilian’s bright and bold boot arrives in an official “Puma White/Racing Blue/Lemon Meringue/Parakeet Green” colourway, with white as the base colour and the blues, yellows and greens playing out in an assortment of graphics that nod to the Selecao’s classic colourings.

Located on the insole of the boot are the names of the children from the Instituto Projeto Neymar Jr. that helped to design the boot.

"The Institute is very special to me," said Neymar. "Since its inauguration in 2014, we have been able to support underprivileged children and their families through sports, education, and healthcare. The Instituto is a place where kids can go after school to learn extra skills that will help shape their future. I am very proud of the team behind this amazing place and the impact we have had on the community, reaching over 10 thousand people. Being able to work with some of the kids on a collection was a beautiful moment for me, and I hope to make them proud when I step onto the pitch wearing the boots, they designed for me."
