Nike Drop The Mercurial Dream Speed 007

No, nothing to do with James Bond, rather this is the seventh instalment in the special edition Nike Mercurial Dream Speed series, and once again they will be worn by a select collection of superstars from across the globe.

The Nike Mercurial Dream Speed series debuted back in the latter half of 2019, arriving as a disruptive special edition for Nike’s elite players, fronted by Cristiano Ronaldo. Now into its fourth year, and we get the seventh release in the line, with a nod to CR7 still present in the insole, while the overall design acknowledges his influence. Inspiration comes for the “Light Crimson/Pale Ivory/Bright Mandarin” colourway comes from the boots Ronaldo wore in his prime, such as the launch edition of the Mercurial Vapor IV (in which he scored his first Manchester United hat trick, at home to Newcastle), and further colourways of that line.

The colour fades from red to orange, with white accents, such as the Swoosh, bordered by black. Black also features on the repeating plus, or x graphic across the heel.

As always with the Dream Speed series, they will be worn by a select roster of Nike athletes. Ronaldo will likely lead the way, while he will be joined by Kylian Mbappe, Sam Kerr, Ada Hegerberg, Federico Chiesa, Morgan Gibbs-White, Leroy Sane, Bruno Fernandes, Ansu Fati, Vinicius Jr, Victor Osimhen, Barbara Bonanza, Lauren James, Marie-Antoinette Katoto and more.
