Teaming up for a collaborative drop with more than a hint of heritage, PUMA and Art of Football have revealed a new capsule collection, with a limited edition version of the King Ultimate standing out as the headliner.
“Some kings aren’t born, they’re made.” So says the thinking behind the new collaboration between UK-based creative community Art of Football and PUMA, which sees a chronicle of the making of a legend that is the PUMA King. Key in the collection is a collaborative take on the King, which sees a retro aesthetic paired with the modern King silhouette featuring a K-BETTER upper material for the next generation of footballing royalty.
The traditional black and white colourway accentuates the use of the heavy stitching on the formstripe, nodding to the traditional construction of the boot when it was first released waaay back in the 1960s. Dual branding completes the look, with the key years of the King line running down the medial side of the boot.
The King boot is then joined by the King 21 trainer, which is constructed from a soft synthetic leather upper material. A classic tongue and eyestay layout is combined with the low profile rubber tooling and suede overlay to complete the classic look and feel combo.
The collection is then rounded out with some tees and drill tops, all carrying the same retro vibes and dual branding of the King Ultimate [AoF] edition.
