Nike Drop The Phantom Thunder Pack

Arriving in a flash of lightning, Nike drop the Phantom Thunder pack, pairing up the Phantom GX and Phantom Luna in uniform colourways, embellished with storm graphics across the heel of each.

The Phantom twins form half of Nike’s current roster of boots, but there’s no sign of the Air Zoom Mercurial or Tiempo here… instead, there’s a gathering storm, as Nike reveal the Phantom Thunder pack. OK, so that’s a bit dramatic (and frankly naff, if we’re being honest. We’ll try harder) but this is a two boot pack, comprised of the Phantom GX and the Phantom Luna, and it signifies a change for the pair in terms of player options, with the Luna now being the only high cut choice, replacing the GX’s dynamic fit, collared version.

Both boots are presented in a “Fuchsia Dream/Barely Grape” colourway, but the real focus is on the heels and soleplates of each, where lightning graphics dance across the surface, differentiated with a black base on the GX and more of a white on the Luna.

The main tech of note with the Phantom Luna is the all-new Cyclone 360 soleplate. The breakthrough circular stud pattern is positioned near the toes, and it allows players to move with agility, precision, and confidence on the pitch. A micro moulding texture in the upper is included for intuitive and enhanced boot to ball striking through Gripknit. Subtle ribs in the cuff provide better ball contact higher up for when the ball doesn’t behave exactly as planned.

Meanwhile, the Phantom GX boasts Nike Gripknit technology, which is a mix of high-tenacity yarns with a treatment to create Gripknit. The result is perfect interaction with the ball, offering just the right amount of stick.
