Nike Drop The Tiempo Legend X 'Pearl'

Continuing to celebrate the three decade milestone since the silo first debuted, Nike release the Tiempo Legend X ‘Pearl’, with a more traditional take on the 30th anniversary stylings.

Earlier this month, Nike kicked off the 30th anniversary celebrations of their longest-lasting silo, the Tiempo, with the drop of the Tiempo Legend X ‘Emerald’. They now follow that up with the Tiempo Legend X ‘Pearl’, which inverts the color scheme of the Emerald, giving prominence to the pearl colour, with the emerald taking on a supporting role, but in striking fashion.

The official colourway on display here is “Sail/Dark Atomic Teal”, and it sees the pearl white dominate the upper, broken up only by an iridescent Swoosh execution that shimmers under the lights in similar fashion to seeing a pearl underwater. Where the ‘Emerald’ edition saw the teal on top, then ‘Pearl’ version moves it to the underside, with a premium gradient effect playing out across the soleplate.

The Tiempo X arrived back in September 2023, and it was the first to feature FlyTouch Plus – Nike’s latest material innovation. It’s a proprietary synthetic leather, which is soft, light, and strong, giving athletes extra ball control where they need it most, while it also helps make the Tiempo Legend X the lightest Tiempo to date, as well as 55 percent less water-retentive than previous versions.

An interesting fact: when you farm pearls, you have to keep them in velvet, and as such the Tiempo Legend X ‘Pearl’ comes in a quilted box, which also includes a velvet bag for the boots. Nice touch – and we’re not just talking about the boot’s performance.

Expect players such as Jamal Musiala to switch into this model for a brief spell in upcoming games.
